Anieta M. Fahrni-Davids, 81, of the Iowa Veterans Home, died Saturday morning, September 6th, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 10th, at the Iowa Veterans Home Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. Ph. 641-844-1234. Born Anieta Marie Demann on July 16th, 1933, in Newton, Iowa, she was the daughter of Edward Louis and Emma Marie (Markman) Demann. In 1956, she was united in marriage to Cecil Fahrni in Newton. He preceded her in death in 1999; she later married John Davids who preceded her in death in 2008. They resided in Marshalltown. Anieta was employed at DeLongs Sportswear and Swifts Greenhouse for many years. She was a member of the Laurel United Methodist Church and the Red Hat Society. In recent years, Anieta made her home at the Iowa Veterans Home where she enjoyed sewing, making ceramics, and watching the Iowa Hawkeyes. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Nancy Adrian of Sioux Falls, SD, Linda (Jeff) Pate of Osceola, Diane Rutherford of Sioux Falls, SD, and Roger (Lisa) Fahrni of Marshalltown, seven grandchildren- Michelle (Ryan) OConnor, Travis Adrian, Scott and Sarah Pate, Lacey Rutherford and McKenzie and Brayden Fahrni, great granddaughter, Ella OConnor and her sister, Erika (Ralph) Frahm of Newton. In death, Anieta rejoined her beloved husbands and two sisters- Janette Finney and Ellen Pugh and her parents.
