Anthony (Tony) Paglia 87, of Marshalltown passed away peacefully at home Sunday, May 3, 2015, with family by his side. Military Honors and interment will be accorded at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 9th, 2015, with a memorial service to follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 8th, 2015, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. A celebration of life will follow the services at Fisher Community Center. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Tony and his family. Phone 641-844-1234. Born June 27, 1927, in Marshalltown, Iowa; he was the son of Armando and Rose (Chidichimo) Paglia. Tony Served In Navy during WWII as a Frogman on an Amphibious Transport Ship in the Pacific Ocean. After serving our country Tony went to Work for Charles Switzer Construction, then partnered with Bill Scheffert to form Paglia & Scheffert Construction and eventually his own business, Paglia Construction. We will remember Tony as a great Storyteller and for his uncanny sense of humor and wit. He had the keen ability to capture your attention when describing the details of his life stories. There was never a project that Tony wouldnt tackle. He was a Handyman, tinkerer, jack-of-all-trades and most importantly a mentor, sharing his extensive knowledge with friends and family. Tony enjoyed stock car racing, fishing, antiques, horses, flea marketing. He loved traveling to see family and especially loved his travel to Arkansas, Colorado and California. He was true example of unconditional love and taught us the importance of family, hard work, kindness, tolerance, generosity, forgiveness and love. He had a strong devotion towards his children and grandchildren. Left to cherish his memory are children Michele Paglia Marshalltown, Angie Paglia McKee (Mike) Nashville, TN, Gregory Paglia, Marshalltown. Siblings Joe (Betty) Paglia, Jim (Betty) Paglia, Ann (Dick) Barlow. Grandchildren Robert McNealy, Omaha, Bryce (Sharon) Leavy, Tim Leavy, Jennifer (Ben) Westphal, Alex McKee and Stephanie McKee, Daughter-in-Law Bernadette Paglia, as well as numerous Great-Grandchildren. Tony was preceded in death by his son, James Robert; parents, Armando and Rose Chidichimo Paglia; siblings Greg Paglia, Mike Paglia, Frank Paglia, Catherine Paglia Nelson, Margaret Paglia Bachel, Angelina Paglia & Mary Paglia Hambrick.
