Barbara Louise Bryngelson, our sweet Mom, devoted wife, and loving grandmother slipped peacefully into the Lord's arms November 9, 2015 at 8:30 p.m. surrounded by her family and dear friends after a beautiful and joyful prayer, Bible reading and song from Jean Bower, the Hospice Chaplain and our dear friend. Jeans words set Mom at ease (and the family too) and released her to go safely to join Jesus and all our loving family members already resting in heaven. It is very hard for us to let her go and yet we are so thankful that she was peaceful and firm in her faith. We were very blessed to have this special mom and we know so many of you loved her as your own mom, friend, confidant and adviser. We thank so many for your love and prayers during her illness and beyond and the many, many good deeds you offered so generously to each of us. We cannot thank you enough. Her passing was both sad and joyful and a very special moment for all of us. Barbara Louise (Wade) Bryngelson was born November 27, 1932 to parents Jenny Louise Dunbar and Irvin Wade in Detroit, Michigan. Lawrence Sindel became her loving father and shared his love of reading and learning with Barbara. She graduated from Milbank High School in Milbank, South Dakota in 1950. She married Berdette Orman Bryngelson on June 16, 1950. They moved to Marshalltown, Iowa in 1951 where she worked at S.S. Kresge store and Berdette worked in construction for his uncle Clifford Bryngelson. Soon after Barb and B.O. started the business Bryngelson Construction and continued to work side by side for over 60 years, expanding to Bryngelson Corporation and eventually adding Tallcorn Towers. Barbara was the decorator for all of the homes designed and built by the company and was the office manager, bookkeeper, and vice president for all their businesses. She was truly the woman behind her man and a savvy businesswoman ahead of her time. She not only managed the business but also became almost a caregiver for the many tenants they served, often providing holiday meals for them and hosting parties and events for their enjoyment. Barbaras spirit was exemplified, not only in her boundless love for her family, but in her service in many community organizations including Elim Lutheran Church, International Jay Cees, National and State Homebuilders, and Masonic groups Eastern Star, High Twelve, and White Shrine of Jerusalem in which she served numerous times as Worthy High Priestess. She was awarded the special Sweetheart Award by the Grand Chapter of Iowa and the Companion of the Temple by the Grand Encampment of the Knights Templar of the United States of America. Barbara is survived by her husband, Berdette, sister Darlene (Jack) Feller, daughters Deb (Steve) Eschweiler, Vicky Lindsey, Julie (Harley) Wirkus, sons Bob and Jay Bryngelson; Grandchildren: Ryan & Sean Klenk, Mary Lindsey, Jessalyn (Mark) Kline, Shanya (Jason) Burton, Danielle (Murray) & Blair Bryngelson, Angela (Josh) Bruce, Tracy (Haldon) Marmolejos, Katie (Jake) Fuentez, Jeanie Wirkus, Kathy Luethje, Brandon Bryngelson and Tanner Luethje; 20 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great-great grandchild.
