Bette Schultz, 83, of Marshalltown, died peacefully Monday, January 3, at home while under the care of her loving family and Iowa River Hospice. Funeral services for Bette will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 7, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Following services, interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Marshalltown. Visitation for Bette will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 6, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home where her family will be present to greet friends and family. Memorial contributions may be directed in her name to Iowa River Hospice. (Brothers) Gerrard. She was raised and educated in Marshalltown and graduated from the Marshalltown High School. Bette was united in marriage to Bob Schultz in Marshalltown, Iowa, on May 28, 1948. Following their marriage they made their home in Marshalltown where they raised their family. In addition to raising her family, Bette and her husband Bob also worked together as agents for Iowa Parcel Service from 1958 1978.Bette was very talented at crafts and drawing. She also enjoyed reading, watching movies and baking and decorating cakes for her family members. Above all, Bette was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.Bette is survived by her husband Bob, her children: Doug (Val) Schultz of Marshalltown, Karen (Richard) McAlister of Cedar Falls, and Leanne (Milt) Clemenson of Ankeny, her siblings: Dick (Linda) Gerrard of Waukee and Beverly (Milton) Drenter of Woodland Park, Colorado, her eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.Bette was preceded in death by her parents and her son Gregg Schultz.
