Betty (Durns) Hundley formally of Le Grand, entered into eternal life on January4, 2012,at MMSC surrounded by her family. Betty was born January 3, 1935 to John and Nora (Anderson) Durns in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Betty was raised in the Sioux Falls area until the family moved to Cedar Falls. Betty attended school at the Iowa School for the Deaf in Council Bluffs. Betty married Donald Hundley of Cedar Falls on August 14, 1953. They moved to Marshalltown in 1955 and in 1969, moved to Le Grand and raised five children. Betty was a homemaker. Betty later went to work for DeLongs Sportswear until she retired in 2002. Betty loved to sew and do crafts, spend time in her sunroom and grow plants, spend time with her dog Woody, watch Soap Operas, horror movies, and cooking shows, loved to play jokes on people and spend time with her children and grandchildren. Betty had a wonderful sense of humor and shared it as often as possible.Betty leaves behind four children: Dean Hundley, Linda (Les) McCargar, Gordon (Karen) Hundley and Kevin (Tracy) Hundley. Five grandchildren, and her brothers: John and Jerry Durns of Tucson, Arizona. She was preceded in death by husband Don, son Randy, parents, and siblings.Funeral services celebrating her life will be at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday January 9, 2012, at the Mitchell Funeral Family Home in Marshalltown with burial at theImmaculate ConceptionCatholic Cemetery at Haverhill. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m., Tuesday January 8, 2012, with a 7:00 p.m. Vigil service. A Memorial Fund has been established.
