Calvin Leroy Cochran

Calvin Leroy Cochran, age 73, of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away on May 10, 2024, at Unity Point Health- Marshalltown Hospital.

Per his wishes and his family, cremation rites will be accorded. No formal services have been scheduled at this time. Memorials in Calvin’s name may be directed to the family for a later designation. Calvin was born May 3, 1951, in Astoria, Oregon. He was the son of Eugene Ross and Florence Evelyn (Thomas) Cochran. Calvin attended school in Oregon and upon graduation from high school, he enlisted in the military. He proudly served his country in the United States Marines Corp. and fought during the Vietnam War. On January 25, 1976, Calvin married the love of his life, Katie (Johnson) Cochran in Portland, Oregon. He was employed by the Silgan Container Corporation in Sacramento, California for 35 years, where he held various positions, starting as a can line operator. Calvin was a hard worker, who read non-fiction WWII books, and enjoyed military movies. He never turned down a good T.V. show to help him relax.

He is survived by his wife Katie Cochran, his children, Geneva, Michael, and Lucas Cochran, and his grandson, Conner Cochran.

Calvin is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Florence Cochran, and his daughter Eileen Cochran.
