Carol R. McLain, 82, of Marshalltown, passed away on Friday, June 3, 2022. Per the wishes of Carol and her family, cremation rites have been accorded and a private graveside service will take place. Ph 641-844-1234. Born Carol Cooper on February 1, 1940 in Marshalltown, Iowa, she was the only daughter of Raymond and Maurine (Buchanan) Cooper. She graduated from Garwin High School in 1958. Carol was blessed with two children, Keri Jo and Tim. They made their home in Marshalltown, where she worked at Fisher Controls from 1967 to 1991 when she retired. Carol was an avid reader and had a big love for dogs, especially her Schnauzers. She loved going to the casino to play the slot machines and enjoyed doing that with her daughter and grandchildren. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Keri McCoy of Tama and Tim (Tanya) Hillygus of Marshalltown; her grandchildren: Staci (Justin) Scavo and Hunter Hillygus and her great-granddaughter on the way, Elena. In eternal life, she is reunited with her parents, Raymond and Maurine; her brother, Gary Cooper and her son-in-law, Mark McCoy.
