Charleen (Mrs. John) Winters, 62, of Marshalltown, died early Wednesday morning, August 27th, at the MMSC. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, August 30th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in the Riverside Cemetery. Born Charleen Miller on February 17th, 1946, in Marshalltown, she was one of seven daughters born to Claude and Dolly Libby (Abney) Miller. She graduated from the Marshalltown High Schools Class of 1964. On July 16th, 1966, she was united in marriage to John Winters in Marshalltown. They made their home here where she was the bookkeeper for the family business, Central Iowa Machine Shop. Prior to her marriage, she was a stenographer for Lennox. Charleen treasured her family and enjoyed bowling, gardening, water fountains, decorating for Christmas, yard sculptures and her convertibles. She especially enjoyed her time with her grandchildren. Left to treasure her memory are her husband, John, children John (Mechiele) of Green Mountain and Megan (Rod) Larson of Marshalltown, eight grandchildren: Libby Larson, Sierra Winters, Lauren Larson, Chase Winters, Noah Winters, Lane Larson, Kasey Winters and Landyn Larson, sisters: Marie (Earl) Cronk, Sandy (Bill) Edwards and Martha Miller (Rick) all of Marshalltown, several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. In death she has rejoined her parents, three sisters: Barb Stanley, Pat Thompson and Claudia Burke.
