Charles Robert Stanfield was born on July 13, 1941 in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of David Leroy and Mary Louise (Barnes) Stanfield. He was a High School graduate of Decorah High School with the class of 1959. Following his graduation, Charles honorably served in the United States Navy. He greatly appreciated the freedoms we share in our country, and flew our stars and stripes proudly. On January 6, 1979, Chuck was united in marriage to the love of his life, Vicky Sue McCurnin at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Marshalltown, Iowa. He was a very hardworking man where he dedicated over 35 years at Fisher Controls. He was a 50 year member of the Fisher 25 Year Club. While Chuck was able, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle and spending time fishing on the lake. He was an active member of his church where he served as an elder for several years. Chuck always looked forward to the NASCAR race on weekends, and never grew tired of watching classic westerns. Left to cherish his memory is his loving spouse: Vicky Stanfield of Marshalltown, IA; children: Brian Stanfield of New York, Rhonda (Erich) Phillips of Independence, MO, Lisa Abrams of Anchorage, AK, Charlie (Jamie) Stanfield of Hubbard, IA, Tim (Jenette) Stanfield of Waverly, IA, David (Abby) Stanfield of Marshalltown, IA and Jenny Stanfield Smith of Marshalltown, IA; several Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren; as well as one sibling: Jane Schlaeppi; and nephew: Lonnie (Heather) Roadway both of Rochester, MN. He is preceded in death by his parents: David and Mary Stanfield. One word to describe Chuck is proud. He was incredibly proud of his family, his beliefs, his accomplishments, and his service. Pride was something he instilled in his children. His life had several chapters, and each had a special place in his heart that he held dearly and always reflected on with pride.
