Daniel Sanford Maddox

April 19, 1952 — February 9, 2018

Daniel Sanford Maddox Jr. 65, passed away February 9th, 2018, succumbing to his third bout with cancer.  He died peacefully in his sleep at home with his family.   He is mourned by his wife of 45 years, Debra, his daughter Jeannie, son Jamison, and his beloved granddaughters Irissa and Avalie.  Also surviving are his brother, Dennis Maddox, three sisters; Connie Backoff, Candace Steimle, Carla Sittner and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by one sister, Christie Christiansen and his mother, Muriel who passed away three weeks before him.   Dan was the fourth of six children of Muriel and Daniel Maddox Sr. He was born in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho April 19, 1952.  Dan was a hard-working man employed by Manatts, Inc. as a Milling Machine Operator.  He was well liked by co-workers and his many friends. He was a charismatic, fun loving man who will be missed by all who knew him. He worked hard for his family and enjoyed his recliner after a hard day at work. In his free time he liked to fish, adored playing with and spoiling his grand-daughters and teasing his wife.  A Celebration of Life will be held at the American Legion on Saturday, February 17 at 2:00.  The family wishes to acknowledge Iowa River Hospice and thank Danessa, Paige and all the staff for their compassionate care and assistance at his home in his final weeks.
