Dianna L. Daters, age 74, of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Harmony of Marshalltown.
A committal service has been scheduled for Saturday, April 5, 2025, from 12:30 P.M. to 1:30 P.M. at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Dianna’s name may be directed to the 4H through Marshall County ISU extension, the ARL of Marshalltown, and the Animal Life Line of Iowa in Des Moines. Dianna Lynn (Cripps) Daters was born June 7, 1950, in Marshalltown, Iowa. She was the daughter of Eldon and Margaret (Morey) Cripps. Dianna attended Marshalltown High School and graduated with the class of 1968. On August 17, 1968, she married the love of her live, David Daters and they both called Marshalltown home. Dianna was a loving housewife who dedicated herself to raising her children. During her working career, she worked for Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Supply, she was also a housekeeper for LeGrand Community Center and worked overnight as a custodian at the Blue Pearl Animal Hospital.
During her free time Dianna enjoyed attending her daughter’s softball games, taking care of her animals, mowing the lawn, and she always had several home projects going on. She also enjoyed watching the Kansas City Chiefs.
Dianna is survived by her two daughters: Lisa Appelgate of Ohio, and Heather (Chad) Hopper of Mingo, IA; her five grandchildren: Regan (Chris Hofman) Appelgate, Conner Appelgate, Rylee Appelgate, all from Ohio, Megan Hopper of Rhodes, IA, and Morgan Hopper of Altoona, IA; her great granddaughter Avianna King of Rhodes, IA; and her sister Annette (Richard) Melohn of Huxley, IA.
She is preceded in death by her parents Eldon and Margaret, her husband David, and her son in law, Mike Appelgate.
