Donald L. Crosser 84, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown, Iowa.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday April 23, 2013, at First United Methodist Church in Marshalltown, Iowa. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 22, 2013, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Full Military Honors will be presented by Harry C Harter Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #839 and American Legion Frank Lewis Glick Post # 146. He was the son of LeWarren Philip and Alma Carrie (Ramsey) Crosser. Donald attended School in the Tama Community School District. Donald served our Country Honorably in the United States Marine Corp from January 1946 until October 1947, during WWII; He served in the Reserves from 1947 1950, and from 1952 1957. On November 16, 1951, Donald was united in marriage to Eunice Rae Peters in Sac City, Iowa. They made Marshalltown their home since 1965. Donald was an over the road Truck Driver his entire working career and loved the road. He enjoyed his membership at the VFW and was also a member of the Teamsters Union. Donald always cherished the times he spent with his family whether it was deer hunting with his sons, family camping, or boating but most of all he loved and cherished the time with his grandchildren. He also loved to collect knives.Left to cherish his memory are his children: Larry Crosser of Des Moines, Iowa; Terry (Trish) Crosser of Marshalltown, Iowa; Gary (Lee) Crosser of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Diane (Dan) Roseland of Sonoma, California; Scott (Pam) Crosser of Independence, Iowa; nephew, Mike (Shelly) ONeal of Marshalltown, Iowa. Grandchildren: Dennis (Lori) Crosser; Andy (Heather) Crosser; Amanda and Zach Crosser; Emily (Nick) Ladewig; Jill (Ben) Boor; Jeremy (Janet) Crosser; Jamie Crosser; Chad Crosser; Josh (Megan) Crosser; Rachel (Peter) Habib; Brett (Kasey) Roseland; Laura Roseland; Jacob (Karen) Crosser; Jason (Erica) Crosser. Great-grandchildren: Lilly Ladewig; Christian, Luke and Bella Crosser; Devyn Crosser, Stella Eicher and Asa Crosser; Madison Hunter, Kate and Leah Crosser; and Cyrus Crosser.In death Donald rejoins his wife, Eunice who passed in 2002, parents, LeWarren and Alma; sisters and brothers-in-law: Gerry (Andy) Anderson and Melvin Peters; Al (Vicki) Arnett; Bobbie Peters; Glen Martin; Jerry (Sharon) ONeal, Step-mother, Peg Ebert and Aunt Mae Lineweaver.
