Dorothy Bernice Bradley, 81, of Marshalltown, died Monday, July 5th, at the Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 10th, at the Central Christian Church with Pastor Gail Thiessen officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-8:00 p.m. on Friday at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to the Central Christian Church or Special Olympics. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Dorothy and her family. Ph 641-844-1234.Born on July 27th, 1928, in Newton, Iowa, she was the daughter of William James and Bernice (Myers) Lester. She graduated from the Newton High School. On February 4th, 1955, she was united in marriage to James Bradley. They made their home in Marshalltown where she was employed as a special education teachers aid at the Pleasant Hill School and later in home healthcare. She enjoyed her family, traveling, going to the casino to play the slots and bingo, playing cards and solitaire, watching game shows (Wheel of Fortune and the Price is Right) and her church.Left to cherish her memory is her children: Rose Ziegler of Mason City, Jim Bradley of Newton and Mark Bradley of Lakeland, FL., grandchildren John Ziegler and Alicia Ziegler both of Mason City, and her brother Guy Lester of Camarillo, CA. In death, she was rejoined with her husband James who died in 1990, two sisters and two brothers.
