Graham M. Gray Condie, 84, of Marshalltown, died Thursday, February 26, 2009. Graham M. Condie was born on September 21, 1924, in Seattle, Washington. He was the son of Graham A. and Ethel (Gamble) Condie. Gray graduated from MIT in 1945 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and later received a MBA from Harvard University. Gray served our country honorably in the United States Navy. On August 18, 1951, he married Louise Diem in Chicago, Illinois. Graham was transferred to Marshalltown in 1964 and served as President of Marshalltown Manufacturing Company for 13 years. After retiring, he owned E and F Quick Print from 1979-1994. He was a member of Elmwood Country Club and the ACBL Bridge Club. He enjoyed collecting stamps, golfing, playing bridge, watching all sports, and especially enjoyed family activities. Gray is survived by his wife, Louise; his children, John(Wanda Ellingson) Condie of Durango, CO, William(Lisa) Condie of Freeport, IL, Steven(Carol) Condie of Naperville, IL, Kristin(Hossein) Tolooee of Niwot, CO, and Thomas(Cathy) Condie of Minneapolis, MN; his sister, Frances Condie, of Seattle, WA; his 11 grandchildren; and his 1 great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and his in-laws, William and Sophie Diem. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 2nd, 2009, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Burial will be at a future date. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to the Marshalltown Public Library. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com.
