Ph. 641-844-1234. Born on July 18th, 1956, he was the son of Darrell and Darlene (Dobson) Hanner. He graduated from the LDF High Schools Class of 1974 and then attended MCC. Jim later graduated from ISU. While at Iowa State, he met the lovely young Karen Sweeney. They two were united in marriage in 1982 and moved to Phoenix, AZ., then California and most recently, Las Vegas. Even though their relationship parted, they still remained close and she was able to spend this last journey with him alongside their children. James Harold Hanner (named after his grandfathers) loved the game of baseball and enjoyed watching all other sporting events if he wasnt playing them. Of course, Iowa State was always the team to watch! He enjoyed his Harley, playing golf and time with his family. He was a Cub Scout while young as well. Mr. Hanner had a long and successful career as a comptroller in the hotel-motel industry. He was most recently employed with the Hilton in Las Vegas until moving over to the Gold Coast where he was employed at the time of his passing. Left to cherish his memory are his children: Nicole (Jake) Barnhorst of Mason, Ohio, Colin Hanner of Cleveland, Ohio, his mother Darlene Hanner of Marshalltown, former wife, friend and mother of his children-Karen Hanner of Mainville, Ohio, brother Kenneth Hanner of Beaman, aunts and uncles: Carol (the late Carl) Kouba, Mary Etta (the late Gerald) Fisher, Joann (the late Vernon) Katzer, Dick (Judy) Dobson and Larry (Doris) Hanner as well as many other family and friends. In death, he rejoined his father Darrell who died in 1978, his brother David who died in 1982, and grandparents Harold and Lura Dobson and J.B. and Mary Hanner.
