James Jimmy Stewart, 51, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home at 4 p.m. with a public visitation held from 2 p.m. until the service time. For condolences please contact www.Mitchellfh.com or call (641) 844-1234. Jimmy was born on February 9, 1966 to the proud parents of James and Helen Stewart (Lacina) in Marshalltown, Iowa. Jimmy was educated in the West Marshall school system. Jimmy was an outdoorsman in every sense of the word, he loved to fish and hunt. He showed a softer side by taking care of his pet birds that brought him so much joy. Jimmy loved to tinker with mechanics, taking things apart and putting them back together with only a few extra pieces left out. Music was a passion of his and he enjoyed playing his guitar in his free time. Recently he was involved in archery and loved to practice. Jimmy was a family man and loved them with all of his heart. Left to cherish Jimmys memory are his children, Anna Stewart, Whitney Jayne and Jacob Roop; grandchild, Lawson Jayne; siblings, Angela Stewart, Melanie Stewart, Valerie Stewart, Patrick Stewart, and Kristin Stewart; father James (Kay) Stewart and mother Helen Stewart. Jimmy is preceded in death by his sister Shawn Stewart.
