Jeanne Collins, 92, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on the morning of Thursday, December 01, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Funeral services for Jeanne will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 5, 2016, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Bonser officiating. Public visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 4, 2016, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home where Jeannes family will be present to greet friends. Following services on Monday, Jeannes will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be directed in Jeannes name to her family. Loreta Jeanne Collins was born on May 20, 1924, in Marshall County, Iowa, the daughter of Leslie James and Loreta Olsie (Wallen) Kelso. She was raised and educated in the Marshalltown School District, graduating from Marshalltown High School in 1942. Following high school, Jeanne was united in marriage to Harry Foran and the young couple was blessed with two children: Terry and Sandra. She was later married to John Riemenschneider in Marshalltown, Iowa. John passed away in 1969. She later was blessed to marry Donald Collins in 1972, and he preceded her in death in 1987. Jeanne was a very hardworking woman, dedicating almost 35 years of her working life at Marshalltown Instruments before retiring in June of 1984. She was a proud member of the First Baptist Church, Legion Auxiliary and many card clubs. Jeanne had a passion for bowling, playing cards and playing golf. Left to cherish Jeannes memory are her children: Terry (Karen) Foran and Sandra Lowery; siblings: Sally Freese, Colleen Gessel, JoAnn Jay, and Connie Calvitti; two grandchildren: Amy Walton and John Lowery; two great-grandchildren: Blaine Walton and Cameron Lowery; as well as several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents: Leslie and Loreta Kelso; siblings: Shirley Larson, Kenneth Kelso, Lois Spurling, Marion Deed Kelso, Ronnie Kelso, and infant brother, Leslie Kelso; one son-in-law: Mark Lowery.
