Jennifer Smith

Jennifer “Jenn” Smith, 42, of Albion, Iowa, passed away in the comfort of her own home on the morning of January 30, 2021. A celebration of life for Jenn will be held on Sunday, February 7, 2021 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to the family for a later designation. Jennifer Lynn Schroeder was born February 2, 1978 to parents Galen Schroeder and Lori Colby in Worthington, Minnesota. She attended school in the Marshalltown area. She later attended courses to become a dental hygienist. In 2007, she was united in marriage to her husband Rick Smith in State Center in the Rose Garden. She was a member of the Albion community for a number of years as well as the Marshalltown and State Center. She worked at the Iowa Veteran’s Home as a CNA for a number of years before working at the Willows in Marshalltown. In her free time, she enjoyed listening to country music. She enjoyed attending live country music concerts when she was able as well. She loved to be outdoors in the summertime, going on motorcycle rides with her friends and trips to the Iowa State Fair. Her favorite holiday was the 4th of July. She was one with an eye for interior decorating and enjoyed going on shopping trips. When she was home, she enjoyed her time with her four dogs. She will be missed by her friends and her family dearly. Left to remember and cherish her memory are her husband Rick Smith; her daughter, Payton (Raymond Martinez) Mayfield; her grandchildren Khloe Mayfield-Valencia and another on the way; her siblings, Matthew (Tracy) Schroeder, Amanda Colby, Al Colby, and Joseph (Sarah) Colby; along with her fur babies, Marley, Dog, Coby and Aria. She was rejoined with her mother, Lori Colby.
