Joann Lambertsen

Joann Lambertsen, 77, of Garwin, passed away on Monday, November 9, 2020 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Garwin United Methodist Church; visitation at 1:00 pm, service at 2:00 pm. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Joann and her family. Joann Kuhr was born on November 29, 1942 in Atlantic, Iowa to Vernon and Opal (Watson) Kuhr. She graduated from Griswold High School in 1961 and went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education at NW Missouri State. Joann was united in marriage to Keith Lambertsen on August 8, 1964 in Lewis, Iowa. After retiring from education, she served as church secretary at the Shenandoah UCC and Garwin United Methodist Church and was actively involved in UMW. In her free time, she enjoyed knitting, sewing, music, and spending time with family. Joann is survived by her husband of 56 years, Keith; daughter: Kenna, and grandson, Jonathan. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law: Lyn Lambertsen and Kay Nosekabel, and numerous nieces and nephews. Joann is preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Opal, and brothers-in-law, Terry and Kent Lambertsen.
