Jon Allen, age 54, of Marshalltown, passed away on Saturday, August 13th, at Mary Greeley in Ames. A celebration of life will take place from 5 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday August 20th at Mitchell Family Funeral home. Donations can be made out to the family. Born August 6th, 1968, in Grand Junction, Colorado, Jon was the son of William Allen and Ella Allen (Osborn) of Loveland, Colorado. Jon cherished making others smile, joking, saying “here comes trouble” when seeing family, friends or acquaintances. Jon enjoyed cars and even worked part-time at the racetrack in Marshalltown. A Colorado native, Jon loved watching the Denver Broncos, listening to country music and tattoos. His favorite song was “The Rose” by Conway Twitty, which happened to be the first tattoo he ever received. He enjoyed fishing, listening to the Bellamy Brothers and bulldogs, even though he never owned one. On April 8, 1995, he was united in marriage to Kimberly “Kim” (Carlson-Alday) in Loveland, Colorado. Jon was blessed with six children who all reside in Marshalltown. Jon loved working at Walmart in Marshalltown and had his Walmart “family”. Jon spoke very highly of Midwest Manufacturing where he shortly worked before his passing. Left to cherish his memory are his six children: Brian Alday, Brice Alday, Breianna Alday (Chris Hildreth), Dylan Allen, Chase Allen, and Conner Allen all of Marshalltown, seven grandchildren, his mother Ella, as well as four brothers: Richard Allen of Loveland, Phil Allen of Loveland, Bill Allen of Loveland, and Kevin Lebeda of Cheyenne, Wyoming, as well as many nieces and nephews. In death, he rejoined his father and step-father.
