Joyce Cato, 71, passed away at home in LeGrand, Iowa, on Monday, March 4, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., on Saturday, March 9, 2013, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Joyce Ann Williams was born on August 10, 1941, in Louisiana, Missouri; she was the daughter of Leslie and Francis (Smith) Williams. Joyce attended school in the Sterling, Illinois, school district. Joyce and Bill McCloud were united in marriage in Sterling, Illinois, and later divorced. On November 21, 1969, she was united in marriage to Harrel Cato in Rockfalls, Illinois. She lived in Sterling and Rockfalls, Illinois, and for the last 3 years in LeGrand, Iowa. She worked in nursing homes as a cook. Joyce loved to cook and was very good at it. She also enjoyed puzzles, soap operas, and her coffee group in LeGrand. Joyce was a proud cancer survivor. Left to cherish her memory are her sons; Chris (Kari) McCloud of Tacoma, Washington; Charles McCloud of LeGrand; and Jeffrey Cato of LeGrand; her grandson, John Christopher McCloud; her siblings: Marjorie Gibson of Morrison, Illinois; Leslie (Pete) Williams of Lyndon, Illinois; and Lyndon (Maren) Williams of LeGrand. In death she rejoins her parents, Leslie and Francis.
