Judith "Judy" Smith

Judith “Judy” Marie Smith, 81, of Garwin, passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at UnityPoint Health Marshalltown. Per the wishes of Judy and her family, cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no formal service at this time. Judy was born on February 18, 1939 in San Francisco, CA to parents Clarence and Mary (Novacek) Blackstone. She was united in marriage to Ronald “Ron” Smith on June 27, 1965 in California.  In 1970, they decided to move to Iowa to raise their two beautiful daughters. She was an excellent homemaker while the girls were young and went on to work at Walmart for over 18 years. Judy was an avid reader and loved to crochet, knit and do crossword puzzles. She is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, Ron; her daughters: Susanne Anderson of Marshalltown and Diane Smith of Pleasant Hill; grandchildren: Kyle (Sarah) Smith, Allese Brooks and Luke Anderson; great-grandchildren: Isaac Smith and Asher Smith and her sister, Linda Blackstone of Oelwein. In death, Judy is reunited with her parents, Clarence and Mary.
