Karen Lea Vasquez

Karen Lea Vasquez, 58, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2014, at Iowa River Hospice Home. Memorial services for Karen will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at the House of Compassion in Marshalltown, Iowa. Memorial contributions may be directed in Karens name to her family. Karen was born on February 16, 1956, in Wichita Falls, Texas, the daughter of James and Roberta (Mckeel) Plymell. She was raised and educated in the Axtell school district attending Axtell High School. For most of her life, Karen was a cook at the house of compassion. She had a passion for making candles, woodworking and was just an all-around crafty person. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter: Krystal Morris; five grandchildren: Spencer, Kelly, Samantha, Tyler and Miranda; one great-great granddaughter: Catlin; three siblings: Sandra Pitt, Larry Adams and Paula Aguillon. She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother: Russell Bubba Plynell.
