Kay Smith, 80, of New Providence, passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at Hansen Family Hospital in Iowa Falls and under the care of Care Initiatives Hospice.
Memorial services held by the family will be on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cornerstone Church of Christ, 14777 US-65, Zearing, Iowa, 50278. Visitation will begin prior to the service at 10:00 a.m., please dress casual. Memorials may be directed to the Cornerstone Church. Cremation rites were cared for at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home.
Kay Blair was born on August 12, 1944 in New Providence, Iowa to Richard and Elsie (Spears) Blair. She graduated from New Providence and attended college at Elsworth in Iowa Falls. Kay was married to Harry Blosch and to this union was blessed with two children: Sondra Kay and Ronald Wayne. They later divorced and in 1970, Kay was married to Bill Smith and to this union added two step daughters: Jackie Sue and Cindy Lou, which was Bill’s by a previous marriage. Bill and Kay were in the advertising specialty business for 48 years before retiring. Kay loved the business and her customers which she bent over backwards to take care of and to help their business. She received many awards in this business and was highly successful mainly because of her helpful care to her clients. Kay accepted the Lord Jesus Christ and was baptized. She was active in church, being on the funeral lunch committee which she wrote a manual for and she was also a greeter along with her husband, Bill.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents, a great granddaughter: Sophie Link and her sister-in-law: Donna Klauenburch.
She is survived by her husband, Bill; daughter: Sondra Morlan (Tracy); son: Ron Blosch (Tes); and step-daughters: Jackie Sue Blue, and Cindy Lou Beeman. Kay is also survived by her grandsons: Tyler Krehbiel (Jillian), Richie Blosch (Bethany), Mike Blosch, Kenneth Link and Brock Morlan (Francesca); granddaughter: Vicky Leppla (Tom); great granddaughters: Braelyn Link and Jeanna Krehbiel and great grandsons: Sabit Krehbiel and Miller Morlan.
