Keith Lambertsen

Keith Lambertsen, 79, of Garwin, passed away on Monday, August 15, 2022 at Unity Point Hospital in Marshalltown.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 8 at 2:00 P.M. at Garwin United Methodist Church with Pastor Mark Keefer officiating. A visitation will take place one hour prior beginning at 1:00 P.M. Mitchell Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Keith and his family.

Keith Lambertsen was born on May 4, 1943 in rural Wiota, Iowa to Vernon and Betty Jean (Legg) Lambertsen. He graduated from Anita High School in 1961 and went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education at NW Missouri State, as well as his Master’s and Specialist’s Degrees in Education. Keith was united in marriage to Joann Kuhr on August 8, 1964 in Lewis, Iowa. He retired after 37 years in education, and began working with at-risk youth. He taught school bus driver education for over 50 years and enjoyed entertaining people with his many accordions through his “Squeezebox Ministries.”

Keith is survived by his daughter: Kenna, and grandson, Jonathan. He is also survived by his sister, Kay Nosekabel, his sister-in-law: Lyn Lambertsen, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Keith is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Joann, his parents, Vernon and Betty Jean, and brothers, Terry and Kent Lambertsen.
