Born on September 5, 1938, in Green Castle Township, Keith was one of two boys born to Kenneth and Allie (Jones) Lutes. He graduated from the Ferguson High School Class of 1956. The following year, he enlisted to serve our country honorably in the United States Army as well as being united in marriage to Mary Pelton, to which two sons were born: Craig and Gary. Keith later married the love of his life, Bonnie Scadden Hartwell on May 25, 1973. Keith was employed for many years at Iowa Electric until, following a dream in 1978, at which time he moved to Branson, Missouri, where he and Bonnie owned and operated the Four Winds Restaurant, Mas home cookin at Dads prices. They wintered in Florida and after 10 years of devoted ownership, called it quits. They did a flea market circuit and loved to travel, fish, and visit with people. Keiths business philosophy was by a handshake and your own word being good. Left to cherish his memory are his children and Bonnies children: Craig (Luraine) Lutes of Gilbert, AZ, Gary (Ev) Lutes of Highland Falls, NY, Sharon (Willis) Daggett of Marshalltown, and Nancy (Terry) Kutzner of Fort Myers, FL; 11 grandchildren: Nikki Rokita and Ken Lutes both of Highland Falls, NY; Bri (Glenn) Darby and Jeff Lutes all of Tacoma, Washington; Jeff (Michelle) Daggett of Marshalltown, Kevin (Dawn) Daggett of Colo, Bryon (Peggy) Daggett of McCallsburg, Kimberly (Chad) Dickinson, Stephanie (Dustin) Wright, and Shawn (Lorrie) Stewart all of Marshalltown; and Samantha (Keith) Vogel of Ft. Myers, FL.; many great-grandchildren (one on the way) and great-great-grandchildren; as well as his only brother, Don (Audrey) Lutes of rural Gilman; his special friend and caregiver, Carol Lombard; niece Diane (Wayne) Ament of Ames; and nephews: Roger Lutes of Gilman, and David (Rachel) Lutes of Topeka, KS.; and many cousins and friends. In death, Keith rejoined Bonnie, his parents and nephew Jerry Lutes. Keith would like to leave us all with this thought: "I'm not trying to tell you what to do but..." Remember me with love and laughter.
