Ken was very proud that he could honorably serve his country in the National Guard as a young man. Leaving Iowa in the 70s, he made his way to California where he became the proud and successful owner of Scott Sales Company in Huntington Park, CA. He was highly regarded in the foundry industry by many business associates and friends. From the time he was a young man, his passion for cars grew. He loved rebuilding classic cars and was a Ford man all of his life. There was always a work in progress going on in his garage. In recent years, Ken spent his weekends going to the sprint car races where he sponsored the winning 4 car. His enthusiasm spread to his friends and family who traveled the race circuit with him. He had a special gift of story-telling. A story was embellished with many details to make it a memorable tale. When Ken was telling a story, you wanted to listen. Loved by his three children who are left to cherish his memory are Matthew Goecke of Mira Loma, CA, Claudia Torres of Chino, CA and Gabrielle (Robert) Ramirez of Chino Hills, CA. In addition, he was blessed with 9 grandchildren that he thought the world of. They are Sydney and Ethan Goecke, Gemini and Angel Cifuentes, George and Victoria Torres, David Koch, Sabrina and Alyssa Ramirez. Ken also leaves behind a loving sister, Barbara (Bill) Crane of Marshalltown, IA, along with several nieces and nephews. Ken was welcomed into Heaven by his parents, Kenneth and Juanita Goecke and an infant sister, Kenita Sue.
