Larry Kunc, 55, of Gladbrook, died early Wednesday morning, January 2, at his home. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 5th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens with full military honors by the VFW Harry C. Harter Post #839. Born on June 23rd, 1952, at Toledo, he was the son of Lester Leo and Doris Mae (Riemenschneider) Kunc. He received his education in the Marshalltown Schools and served our country proudly in the United States Army. Larry was employed in the carpentry field and had worked at Cessfords and most recently at Mannatts.Larry will be fondly remembered for his love of family, music- especially old and classic Rock and Roll, collecting sports cards, fishing, watching deer, golf and his cat, Smokey. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Linda (Gray) whom he married on July 19, 2003, his son Larry Lester Kunc of Marshalltown, brother Michael (Betty) Kunc of Marshalltown, sisters Karlene (Jerry) Jantzen of Malcom, and Patty (Dean) Winegarden ofColumbus Junction, several nieces and nephews, Lindas family: daughter Lori Mason (Matt Craig) of Marshalltown, son Larry Eastman, Jr. (Tracy) of Ames, grandchildren: Brittany, Jami, Abbie and Joseph and a host of friends. In death, he has rejoined his parents and sister, Lela Stiegelmeier.
