Leslie Jaspersen, 52, of LeGrand, died early Wednesday morning at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Graveside memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 29th, at the Riverside Cemetery with her brother, Pastor Marshall St. John, officiating. There will be no visitation. Born Leslie St. John on September 30th, 1954, in Marshalltown, she was the daughter of Virgil and Betty (Hutchings) St. John. She graduated from the Mason City High School and later from NIACC with her associates degree in horticulture. Leslie obtained her BS degree from Buena Vista College in Human Services and her LPN. She was employed as an LPN and was also a homemaker with her son, Adam in LeGrand until moving to the Oakview Nursing Home in Conrad 1 years ago due to health. Mrs. Jaspersen was an accomplished pianist and enjoyed plants and cats. On May 24th, 1983, she was united in marriage to Gary Jaspersen in Mason City. Left to celebrate her life are her son, Adam of Des Moines, her father Virgil St. John of LeGrand, siblings: Rev. Marshall (Grace) St. John of Signal Mound, TN., Regan (Dan) Roberts of Marshalltown and Martha (Ed) Collins of Colby, Kansas, several nieces and nephews, her cat Vanna White and her family at the Oakview Nursing Home in Conrad. In death she has rejoined her grandparents and her mother, Betty St. John and her former husband, Gary Jaspersen.
