Linda Kay Wallen

Linda Wallen, 66, of Green Mountain, passed away on the morning of Sunday, January 14th, at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown, with family at her side.           Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, January 19th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Ph. 641-844-1234.           Born Linda Moody on November 21st, 1951, in Marshalltown, she was the daughter of Nathan and Bonnie Jean (Prescott) Moody. She graduated from the Marshalltown High School’s class of 1970. Later that same year, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Phil Wallen, at the 1st Friends Church in Marshalltown. They made their home in Marshalltown until moving to Green Mountain in 2003. She loved the Green Mountain community.           Linda enjoyed gardening and working in the yard as well as decorating her home for Christmas and holidays. Her dogs were her kids- Maggie and Lucy. She also kept books for her husband who did trucking.           Left to cherish her memory are Phil, her loving husband of 47 years; her siblings- Gladys (Richard) Charlton, Pat LeMaster, Mary Moody and Steve (Sally) Moody; her Aunt Donna Henderson; many nieces and nephews and close friends- Kelly, Ginger, Ramona and Merrell.           In death, Linda rejoined her parents and grandparents, aunts and uncles and fur-babies: Mandy, Ginger, Gizzy, Echo, Peachy, Brandi, Whiskey, Abby and Mollie.
