Lloyd King, 87, of the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown, formerly of Council Bluffs, Iowa, passed away, Sunday, February 22, 2015, with his loving family by his side. Cremation rites have been accorded and memorial serves will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family to be designated at a later date. Lloyd Robert King was born on June 30, 1927, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He was the son of Lloyd Everett and Glenda Pearl (Humes) King. Lloyd attended school in Council Bluffs at Abraham Lincoln High School, graduating with the class of 1945. He served our country honorably in the United States Navy from 1945 until 1948 during WWII. On September 3, 1996, Lloyd was united in marriage to Judy Kay Miller in the Black Hills, South Dakota, and they lived in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He worked for Proctor and Gamble and the Omaha World Herald News Paper for many years. Lloyd was a member of FOE # 3912 in Bellevue, Nebraska. He enjoyed collecting Budweiser items, cruises, and he LOVED his NASCAR. Left to cherish Roberts memory is his wife of 18 years, Judy King of Council Bluffs, Iowa. Sons: Steve (Eunice), Roger (Mary), Jay (Julie), and step daughters, Lisa and Lori. Grandchildren: Rustin, Sommer, Jake, Rachel, Shelby, Anthony and Andy; step-granddaughters, Brittani and Amanda; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Elizabeth, and Eben; and sister, Shirley. In death, Lloyd rejoins his parents, Lloyd and Glenda; and a son, Mike.
