Marjorie Williamson, 99, of Smyrna, Georgia and formerly of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on October 28, 2021 at the Presbyterian Village Nursing Home in Austell, Georgia. Marjorie Ellen Ruff Williamson was born July 9, 1922 in Tama County, Iowa to parents Floyd and Sareva Ruff. She graduated from Toledo High School in 1940 and attended every graduation reunion held. Married to Warren G Williamson, Sr on December 22, 1943 in Marshalltown. While living in Marshalltown, Iowa she was a homemaker and worked for Thad Smith Real Estate and The Elder Company assisting many folks find their perfect homes. She was a member of the Blue Star Mothers of America in Marshalltown. The family settled in Smyrna, Ga in 1968 after her husband, employed by Bank Builders and Equipment Corporation, tired of traveling to various states to remodel financial institutions. She was employed by JC Penney store at Cumberland Mall, and worked in the costume jewelry department for many years. Upon her retirement from the company, she was an active member of the Retirees Club. She was an active member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Marietta, Ga where she was a Deacon and an Elder and served on various committees, food bank distributions, and going to the homes of the homebound church members offering fellowship. She is survived by, her sons: Warren (Carol) Williamson Jr. and Marty Williamson; her grandsons: Bryan Williamson, Robert (Nicole) Williamson and Jason (Leah) Williamson; her great-grandsons: Bryson Williamson and Samuel Williamson; her great-granddaughters: Alexus (Adarian) Alston-Thompson, Haley Gooden, and Eden Williamson; and her great-great-granddaughter, Kolbie Alston-Thompson. She is preceded in death by her husband: Warren Williamson Sr.; her son Kevin Williamson; her brothers Ronald and Roger Ruff and Robert Ward; and her granddaughter Amanda Ellen Gooden. Services for Marjorie will be held on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home at 2:00 P.M. A visitation for family and friends will be held one hour before services.
