MaryAnn (Mrs. Larry) Petermeier, 69, of Green Mountain, died Thursday, September 11th, at her home while in care of her loving family and the Iowa River Hospice. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 15th, at St. Marys Catholic Church with Fr. Jim Miller and Fr. Bernie Grady officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with a 7:00 p.m. vigil service. MaryAnn was the daughter of Richard E. and Ethel (Agnew) Harris, born on November 9th, 1939, in Keswick, Iowa. She graduated from St. Marys High School in Marshalltown, Iowa, in 1957. MaryAnn married Larry Petermeier on November 21st, 1959, when they began their life together. She worked at the MMSC as an operating technician and the Iowa Veterans Home as an LPN. In 1996, she retired from IVH. Following her retirement, she continued to care for other people by volunteering for Iowa River Hospice, MMSC Lifeline, and St. Marys for many different programs, Avon and also for the community. She enjoyed dancing, traveling and spending time with her family. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 48 years, Larry, her children: Loreen (Jack) Frost of Collins, Iowa, Mark (Tammy) Petermeier of Weatherford, TX, John (Tiffany) Petermeier of Norwalk, Iowa, Gregory (Jill) Petermeier of State Center, Iowa, Jennifer (David) Steinbronn of Waverly, Iowa, and Joseph (Andrea) Petermeier of Beaman, her dear grandchildren Curt (Stephanie), Tanya (Aaron), Kevin (Megan), Austin, Tyler, Joshua, Jakob, Daniel, Dylan, Brady, Conley, Luke, Cole, Emmitt and another on the way, two great-grandchildren Cameron and Haley and another on the way, her sisters Judith (Dr. William) Hilleman of Richland Center, Wisconsin, and Rita (Randy) Brenner of Afton, Minnesota, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, the Petermeier family and a host of friends. She joins in heaven her parents, grandparents, brothers John and Ed Harris and nephew, Patrick Hilleman.
