Mary Jean Macbeth, 84, of Conrad, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2015, at Central Iowa Healthcare in Marshalltown, Iowa. Funeral services for Mary Jean will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Pastor Kerry Jech officiating. Mary Jean Hasselbach was born on May 24, 1931, in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Arthur W. Hasselbach and Mary Perl McClure/Hasselbach. She was raised and educated in in University City, a suburb of St. Louis, graduating from University High School. Following high school, the entire family moved to Pacific Palisades, Ca. Mary Jean went on to attend UCLA. She was united in marriage to Edwin Charles Macbeth in Las Vegas, Nevada. From this union two children were born: Scott and Jennifer. Mary Jean was a devoted mother and wife, always taking care of the family and home. She had a passion for collecting dolls, politics, reading and surfing the internet. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Scott (Tracy) Macbeth and Jennifer Macbeth; grandchildren: Ashley and Chloe Macbeth; three brothers: Tom, Bill and Jim Hasselbach. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edwin and parents, Edwin Byron Macbeth and Gleam Macbeth.
