Melissa “Lisa” Van De Walle, 52, of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2017, at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown surrounded by her family Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family to be designated at a later date. Phone 641-844-1234.Melissa Rene Eurom was born on September 17, 1965, in Denver, Colorado; she was the daughter of Dale and Diane (Parrish) Eurom Franksain. Lisa attended school in the Marshalltown Community School District graduating with the class of 1985. In May of 1988, Lisa was united in marriage to Scott Van De Walle at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, and they were blessed with three sons, Derek, Travis and Jared. They later divorced. Lisa attended Marshalltown Community College and received her CNA and then worked for the Iowa Veterans Home and was a member of the Union at the Veterans Home. She enjoyed Sprint Car Racing at the Marshalltown Speedway, riding motorcycles, and roller skating in her younger years. Christmas was always Lisa’s favorite holiday as she loved to be around her family and this Christmas she was able to come home to be with her boys at Hospice.Left to cherish Lisa’s memory are her sons, Derek Van De Walle and Jared Van De Walle, both of Legrand, Iowa; parents, Dale and Diane Franksain of Marshalltown, Iowa; siblings, Craig Eurom and Rodney Eurom both of LeGrand, Iowa and stepbrother, Jeff Eurom of Marshalltown; and many nieces and nephews; and her fat cat, “Hoosier.” In death Lisa rejoins her son, Travis Van De Walle and siblings Terry Eurom and Justina Franksain.
