Norma Kellogg, 97, of Montour, died Thursday, April 26, at the Iowa River Hospice House in Marshalltown with her loving family at her side.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 30, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown with Pastor Brian Oliver of the Living Faith United Methodist Church in Montour officiating. Private family interment rites will be held at the Maple Hill Cemetery at Montour. Family and friends are invited to the Community Center in LeGrand for a time of fellowship, refreshments and to share memories immediately following the services. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Norma and her family 641-844-1234.Born on March 26, 1915, at home near Dunbar, Iowa, she was the daughter of Arthur and Ida (Kjormoe) Roseland. Norma graduated from the Dunbar High Schools Class of 1932 and soon was united in marriage to Acil Kellogg. The couple farmed near Montour all of their married lives.Mrs. Kellogg was an active member of the Living Faith United Methodist Church in Montour and was a member of the Happy Hour Club. She enjoyed playing cards in LeGrand on Monday afternoon, fishing trips to Minnesota, celebrating her Norwegian heritage and treasured her family. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas when she had her numerous descendants gather to share dinner on Christmas eve at her home and a visit from Santa.Left to cherish her memory are seven children: Doris (David) Paul of Gilman, Darlene (the late Virgil) Peterson of Melbourne, Jay (Janet) Kellogg of Montour, Deanna (Lauren) Paxson of Montezuma, Jo Ella (George) Courter of Galesburg, IL, Don (LaVerna) Kellogg of Montour and Ken (Susan) Kellogg of Montour; 17 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren, her brother Dale (Erma) Roseland of Gilman and sister-in-law Colleen Roseland of Gilman, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.In death, she rejoined Acil who died on February 4, 2002, her son-in-law Virgil Peterson, her grandson Kyle David Kellogg, great-granddaughter Hope Wright, sister Dorothy Mae Hauser and brothers Myron, Wendell and Donald Roseland.
