Ray Fisher, 60, of Garwin, died Saturday, June 23, at his home.Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Pastor Dustin Brown of the Carlton Brethren Church officiating. Ph: 641-844-1234.Born Ray Martin Fisher on December 30, 1951, in Marshalltown, he was the eldest child born to Gerald and Mary Etta (Dobson) Fisher. He graduated from the South Tama High Schools Class of 1970. Soon after graduation, he moved to Spencer where he worked as a motorcycle mechanic- his true love and calling. He returned home to farm for nearly 20 years. Ray was a passionately gifted mechanic, but was creative in building motorcycles and trikes. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and sweet corn harvest time. For nearly 35 years, he traveled to Sturgis annually for the motorcycle rally. He also enjoyed time with family and friends. He restored his mothers Model-A that she and her sister Carol drove to school as young ladies, and combined it with his motorcycle to form a trike that was featured in a Sturgis magazine one year. Ray was a member of the Carlton Brethren Church.Ray was blessed with Mary Margaret Duff in his life and to their relationship a son, Brian, was born. They survive as well as Rays mother, Mary Etta Fisher, brothers: Dean Fisher and Bradley (Terri) Fisher, niece Anna (Sean) Lyons of Traer and their daughters Tasia and Delaney; nephew Michael (Nosika) Fisher and their daughter Natalie Marie of Jacksonville, NC, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.In death, he rejoined his dad, Gerald, grandparents and many aunts, uncles and friends.
