Richard Rick Cartee, 80, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2017, at home. Per Ricks request, cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no services at this time. Richard Allan Cartee was born on July 2, 1936, at home in Marshalltown, Iowa; he was the son of Harold and Helen (Robbins) Cartee. He attended school in the Marshalltown schools. Rick served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1953 until 1955. On February 2, 1956 Rick was united in marriage to Bernita Kielman in Morrison, Illinois . They had lived in State Center, Melbourne and retired to Marshalltown. Rick had been an over- the-road truck driver and a heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed camping and traveling with Gerogie for the last four years, watching TV (especially NASCAR) from his couch and always had his four legged friends beside him, Hershey and Angel. He was very proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved them very much. Rick had the kindest heart, gave the best hugs. His love and laughter will be dearly missed. Left to cherish his memory is his companion, Georgie Whitmore; children: Terri (Jeff) Ulch of Clemons, Iowa, Tracy Cartee, and Tricia Cartee, both of Marshalltown, Iowa; grandchildren: Taylor Lynch, Nathan White, Angie Kilker, Melissa Ulch, Krystle Faris and Mike Ulch; great-grandchildren: Mason Kilker, Kaden Kilker, Kaleb White, Kolin White, Blaedyn Benscoter, Emersen Faris, Ellasyn Faris, Steele Faris, Preston Eygabroad, Tanner Eygabroad, and McKenzie Ulch and close friends. In death Rick rejoins his parents, Harold and Helen; wife Bernita; siblings: Tom and Doug Cartee, Carleen Boulicault, and Linda Rozak.
