Richard Rhoades

A reception held by the family will be on Saturday, October 10, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Hope United Methodist Church in Marshalltown. Mitchell Family Funeral Home was entrusted to care for the family. Richard Dean Rhoades was born on November 15, 1952 in Marshalltown to James and Pauline Wilson Rhoades. On June 11, 1983 he was united in marriage to Hazel Proffitt. Richard enjoyed working outside and spending time with his beloved dog Gibby. Richard is survived by his wife of 32 years Hazel. Step daughters Christine (Gabe) Sheppard of Marshalltown and Diana (David) Payne of Altoona. Grandchildren: Anthony (Kim) Johnson, Megan Locke, Nicole Johnson, Katelyn Johnson and great grandchildren Christian, Hunter, Alliah, Alexis and Kaiden. Richard is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, sister Jorene and brothers Billy and Terry Rhoades.
