The loving smile and laugh of Bob Ferneau, 84, of rural Marshalltown, entered into Heaven on the morning of June 6th, at his home, with family at his side, and while in the care of Iowa River Hospice. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 11th, the 64th Anniversary of Bob and Pearl, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Born on March 9th, 1930, in Marshalltown, Bob was the son of LaVerne and Bernice (Brayton) Ferneau. He received his education in Marshalltown and Conrad. On June 11th, 1950, Bob was united in marriage to Pearl Schaper at the 1st United Methodist Church. They made their home at Marshalltown where they were blessed with eight children. Bob continued the lineage of the family business- Ferneau House moving. He will be fondly remembered for his smile, his love of others and visiting with everyone. He was a member of the Lincoln Valley and American Legion Golf Clubs, Mid-States Housemovers Association, Mens Bowling Association, Pilots Association, Moose Lodge and enjoyed any John Wayne movies, gospel and country music, listening to his brother Dick and his mother play the organ, Harley-Davidsons, golfing and bowling, reading (especially history and airplanes) and family pets. Left to cherish his memory are Pearl, his loving wife of 64 years, eight children: LaVerne Bernie (Mary) of Marshalltown, Steve of LeGrand, Gary (Lori), Glen (Dian), Marilyn, Kim (Susan), Kevin (Chris) all of Marshalltown and Sharon (Tony) Hand of Eldora, 10 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, his siblings- Jane Black of Yakima, WA, Richard (Virginia) Ferneau of Marshalltown and John (Pat) Ferneau of Clemons, half-sister Betty (Leo) Runge of Ames as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In death, Bob rejoined his parents and grandparents, sister in law Marjorie Ferneau, brother-in-law Ray Black, and his longtime faithful companion, Shelby the dog.
