Robert Meininger, 74, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, formerly of Marshalltown, died Tuesday, December 23, 2008. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 29, 2008, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Due to the inclement weather, the family suggests that you dress warmly and casually. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00-7:00 at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Ph 641-844-1234.Robert Meininger was born on January 31, 1934, at Culbertson, Nebraska. He was the son of Joseph and Lillian (Wacker) Meininger. He was a veteran of the United States Army. On July 20, 1963, he married Janet Wilkening. Robert was a foreman at Marshalltown Instruments, working there 42 years, 11 of which were spent in Kenesaw, Nebraska. He retired in 1995 and moved to Oakland, Arkansas. He was a member of the Albion Presbyterian Church and later the Kenesaw Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife, Janet, and special friends, Randy (Diana) Drummer of Cedar Rapids, IA. Also surviving are two sisters, Laura (Dick) Tandy and Marge Fisher, both of Norman, OK; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Stan Fisher.
