Ron Oetker

Ronald E. Oetker, 53, of Haverhill, died Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at MMSC.Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 21, 2010, at St. Henrys Catholic Church. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery at Haverhill. Memorials may be directed to the family. Visitation will be on Sunday evening from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Phone 641-844-1234.Ronald Earl Oetker was born on August 1, 1956, in Marshalltown. He was the son of Earl and Irene (Freese) Oetker. Ron graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1974. On August 6, 1977, Ron married Jeanne Heinrichs at St. Henrys Catholic Church. To this union, four sons were born- Andrew, Brian, Patrick, and Mark. They later divorced.Ron was employed in various factory jobs as a machinist. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, United Auto Workers, and St. Henrys Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, sports with his boys, watching ESPN, music, and singing.Surviving Ron are his children Andrew (Dana) Oetker of Roland, Brian (fiance Erin Cope) Oetker of Waterloo, Patrick (Erin) Oetker of Hudson, and Mark Oetker of Cedar Falls; his grandchildren Lydia, Marissa, and Eli; his parents Earl and Irene Oetker; his siblings Kathleen (Glen) Gwyn of North Carolina, Leroy (Julie) Oetker of Grundy Center, Joanne (Donnie) Lenox of Urbandale, Philip Oetker of Marshalltown, and Paul (Kelley) Oetker of Marshalltown.In death he has rejoined his grandparents on both sides and his brother Daniel Oetker.
