Ronald Hazen, 72, of 1205 West Linn Street, Marshalltown, died Friday, October 26th, at the MMSC. A Remembrance service celebrating Rons life will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 30th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Cremation rites have preceded the services. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until the service time. Fellowship and refreshments will immediately follow. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Ron and his family. Ph 844-1234. Born on March 3rd, 1935, at home in Marshalltown, he was the son of Fred and Lida (Snider) Hazen. He received his education in the area of his birth. On May 28th, 1955, at Lancaster, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Janice Bulanek. They have made their home in Marshalltown all of their married lives where he was employed at Trowbridge Construction, Cooper Manufacturing and later retired from the Marshalltown School Systems after 20 plus years in the custodial department. He enjoyed his family, grandchildren and refinishing furniture. Left to celebrate his life are his loving wife of 52 years, Janice, six children: Thelma Smith, Art (Cindy) Ayers, Deborah (Richard) Fiser, Ronald Hazen, Jr., Bradford Hazen, and Pamela (Russell) Haines all of Marshalltown, 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren (and one on the way), his siblings Harlan (Dorothy) Hazen and Elston Hazen of Marshalltown, Elvin (Betty) Hazen of Liscomb, Ileen (Jim) Thompson of LeGrand and sister-in-law Ellen Hazen, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. In death he has rejoined his parents, brother Fred Hazen, sisters Emma Otte and Frances Brown and half-brother Charlie.
