Wanda Faye Lawson, 59, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at her home with her loving family by her side Funeral services for Wanda will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2013, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Harlan Nuss, Chaplain of Iowa River Hospice officiating. Public visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m. at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. on Friday, August 23, 2013, where her family will be present to greet friends. Wanda Faye (Shook) Lawson was born on October 7, 1953, the daughter of Willard Edward and Darlene Faye (Church) Shook. She was raised and educated in the Marshalltown school district, graduating from Marshalltown High School in 1972. Wanda was united in marriage to Warren L. "Doc" Lawson II on August 23, 1973 in Marshalltown, Iowa. She worked in retail sales, an assistant manager at the Dollar General and was a great babysitter for her grandchildren. Wanda had a true passion for her family, listening to music, cooking, her four dogs and her two cats. Left to cherish her memory is her husband: Warren "Doc"; her children: Crystal (Adan Manzo) Castillo and Stephanie Clark; her grandchildren: Trino, Marcella and Carlye Castillo; one brother: Myron (Julie) Shook; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents.
