Wayne was one of five children, and enjoyed his siblings company and always tried to stay in touch even after adulthood. Wayne attended William Penn College and graduated with a BS in Music Education, after he attended Buena Vista College and graduated with a BS in Business Management. With his degrees Wayne taught music in Nebraska and Iowa in high schools. Gaye Fallis caught the attention of Wayne and the two were soon married on October 4, 1986 at Quaker Heights Campground. The two would make their lives all over Iowa but eventually make their way back to Marshalltown. Wayne worked at the Iowa Veterans Home in staff education and he also was the Iowa Veterans Home historian, giving tours and answering every question posed to him. In Waynes free time he loved to sing in the Marshalltown Mens Choir, play the tuba and trombone in the Marshalltown Municipal Band, and loved to attend First Presbyterian Church in Marshalltown. Left to cherish Waynes memory are his wife of 30 years, Gaye; siblings: Ed (Judy) Pierson, Ellen (Jack) Miller, Richard (Ca-Rita) Pierson, and Ron (Bonnie) Pierson; and many nieces and nephews. Wayne is preceded in death by his Parents Robert and Kathleen.
