Wesley Linhart was born on May 26, 1924, the son of Fred Linhart and Julia (Sokol) Linhart in rural Tama County. He graduated from Clutier High School with the class of 1941. He served in the anti-aircraft division of the U. S. Army during World War II. After his honorable discharge from the Army he moved to Marshalltown. After moving to Marshalltown he worked at Marshalltown Foundry Company as Office Manager from 1945 to 1971. While at the Foundry he was instrumental in the organization of the Lennox Employees Credit Union. He was selected to the Board of Directors at the organizational meeting in 1948. He served on the board until 1971at which time he was hired as the First Credit Union Manager retiring in 1989. He was a past member of the Lennox Management Club, Central Iowa Transportation Club, and the Isaac Walton League. For ten years after retirement he served on the Marshall County Election Board at election time.He was a 73 year member of the American Legion Post #46 at Marshalltown as well as a 81 year member of the ZCBJ Lodge at Clutier. On June 25, 1952 he was untied in marriage to Patricia Lapour at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Left to celebrate his life are his daughter, Rebecca Linhart (Frank Waite) of Des Moines, daughter-in-law Teresa Linhart of Millbrae, California, brother Richard Linhart of Clutier, and sister Ila Jean of Clutier. Wesley was preceded in death by his wife Patricia, son Craig and his parents, Fred and Julia. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 21, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home at 10:30 with a public visitation starting at 9:30 and held until the service time.
