William H. Bill Seggerman, of Marshalltown, died November 2, 2008, at the Iowa Veterans Home. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 6th, 2008, at the Iowa Veterans Home Chapel. Burial will be at a future date. There will be no visitation. Bill was born on March 3, 1927, in Remsen, Iowa. He was the son of Harm and Grace (Leutjen) Seggerman. He attended school in the area of his birth and went on to attend 2 years at Los Angeles City College. Bill served from 1945-1949 in the US Army during World War II in Germany. On October 7, 1950, he married Geraldine June Klumpp in Storm Lake, Iowa. To this union, one daughter, Nancy, was born. Bill formerly lived in Marcus, Sheldon, and Storm Lake, IA. He had lived in the Iowa Veterans Home since 1999. Bill was employed at Illinois Central Railroad for more than 9 years. He then was employed at Marcus Oil until 1982 and Cherokee County until he was injured in 1982. Bill loved to fish, woodworking, and his faith. Bill is survived by his daughter, Nancy Seggerman Iversen and her husband, Jeff Iversen, of Morrison, CO; his grandson, Marcus Iversen, of Denver, CO; his sister, Betty Johnson, of Archer, IA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his 12 siblings, and his wife, who died in February, 1978.
