Alberta Biggs, 94, of Marshalltown, died Saturday evening, June 27th, while in the care of the Southridge Nursing and Rehab Center, Iowa River Hospice and her loving family. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 30th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Bobby Shomo, Chaplain of the Iowa River Hospice officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. Monday (today) at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in her memory to the Iowa River Hospice. (Campbell) Halladay. On December 12th, 1934, she was united in marriage to Lester Biggs in Kirksville, MO. They made their home in Kirksville, MO, Milan, MO, Fairfield, Iowa, Siquorney, Iowa, Adel, Iowa, and then Marshalltown where she was employed at JC Penneys from November 1958 to December 1979. Left to mourn her loss are her daughters: Jane Freese and Shirley (Mike) Keen both of Marshalltown; grandchildren- Jay (Cindy) Freese of Montour, Kevin (Melissa) Keen of LeGrand, Jackie (Tim) Stonewall, Judy Freese and Kami (Chip) Uhde all of Marshalltown, and her great-grandchildren: Conner and Marriah Stonewall; Jesse and Nolan Keen; Kaci and Chesni Uhde. In death she has rejoined her parents, husband Lester in 2004 and sister, Hortence Grassle.
