Alice Marie Cruzan

Alice M. Cruzan, 85, of Marshalltown, IA, formerly of Albion, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2025 at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown.

Born Alice Marie Eurom on September 26, 1940 in Nevada, Iowa, she was the only child of Harold and Ida (Hobson) Eurom. She grew up in Albion, Iowa, where she attended school. Alice met the boy next door, A.C. Cruzan, and from a young age, they were inseparable. The two of them were united in marriage on July 28, 1958 in Princeton, MO. During A.C.’s time in the service, the couple lived in Alabama and Alaska before returning to Albion to raise their family.

Alice dedicated 40 years working for Cooper Manufacturing. After retirement, she and A.C. moved to Lake of the Ozarks, MO, where they lived for 20 years. During that time they spent several winters in Texas before taking up permanent residence in San Juan, TX in 2019. Alice then moved back to Marshalltown, Iowa to be closer to her family after A.C. passed away.

In her free time, Alice enjoyed making things with her hands, including sewing, quilting and embroidery. She also loved baking and playing Bingo. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family and caring for them, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory are her three children: Cindy (Bob) Gould of Rhodes, Betty Schnathorst of Marshalltown, and David (Nicki) Cruzan of Wellsburg; her grandchildren: Dustin (Esther) Gould, Hannah Gould, Molly (Daniel) Voss, Paige (Brandon) Bucklin, Tessa (Ben) Frahm, Bailey (Matt) Aldinger and Bryce Cruzan (Kylie); and nine great-grandchildren: Corbin Gould, Kaidon, Kallyn and Kinlee Bucklin, Adilyn, Kennedy and Wade Frahm, and Sutter and Truett Aldinger. She is also survived by several brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Alice is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, A.C.; her son, Robert Cruzan; her parents, Harold and Ida; and her son-in-law, Leonard Schnathorst.
