Alice Pentz

Alice was born November 29th, 1931 to Neva and Keith Rowley in Applington, Iowa. When Alice was four the family moved to Marshalltown. She graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1949. She was employed by Younkers as a sales clerk and later became a phone operator for the Bell Telephone Company. In 1952 she met Richard Pentz who swept her off her feet, and they married in the summer of 1953. They were happily married until Richard's death in 1985. Together they raised three girls, Kris Pentz Johnston, ( husband Charles) of Scappoose, Oregon, Susan Pentz of Albion, Iowa and Julie Pentz of Scappoose, Oregon. In November 1963 Alice and Richard took a leap of faith and established Pentz Appliance and Television which continues today to be a mainstay in downtown Marshalltown. In the summer of 2016 Alice left her beloved Marshalltown to move to Scappoose, Oregon. Alice will be so missed by her family. She was an intelligent, witty, generous, and loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter Lori Pentz, Alice's parents Neva and Keith Rowley, Alice's husband Richard Pentz and her sister Jean Rowley Larson. Alice requested that no services be held, her daughters are honoring this request. Her ashes will be placed next to Richards at Riverside Cemetery. Alice leaves behind her daughters Kris, Susan, Julie, 28 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
